Raising the Minimum Wage
Raising the Minimum Wage: Worth and Dignity for All Workers
Both houses of the Illinois legislature have passed a bill (SB 81) gradually raising the state minimum wage to $15 by 2022. Most of the 400,000 minimum wage earners in IL are adults working full time. They make less than $17,000 a year, leaving many of them homeless or reliant on food stamps to make ends meet.
