Protecting Dreamers: A Matter of Dignity and Compassion

The DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program is under attack, with ten states threatening to sue if the program is not rescinded by September 5. This would put 800,000 young people who came here as children at immediate risk of deportation. Keeping DACA in place is essential until Congress passes a more permanent solution, such as the bipartisan Dream Act of 2017 (S. 1615) which would provide a pathway to citizenship for qualified applicants.
